Christopher Paul Curtis

Best author in the world!
trust me.

He was born in Flint, Michigan, on May 10, 1953. In his childhood he was the first African American to be on the student council. When he grew up he married Habon Aden and had 2 kids, Ayaan Leslie and Ebyaan Hothan.

He wrote Bud, not Buddy (a Newbery Medal award book), Elijah of Buxton, The Mighty Ms. Malone, Mr. Chickee's Messy Mission, Mr. Chickee's Funny Money, The Watsons Go to Birmingham, and  Bucking the Sarge.

“A bud is a flower-to-be. A flower in waiting. Waiting for just the right warmth and care to open up. It's a little fist of love waiting to unfold and be seen by the world. And that's you.”
Christopher Paul Curtis, Bud, Not Buddy

“There comes a time when you're losing a fight that it just doesn't make sense to keep on fighting. It's not that you're being a quitter, it's just that you've got the sense to know when enough is enough.”

Christopher Paul Curtis, Bud, Not Buddy

"A Mile A Minute”

“Doggone it all!”
Christopher Paul Curtis, Elijah of Buxton

Ten-year-old Bud is having problems: people are calling him Buddy, and he can't stop them. At the home in the breakfast line, a lady walks over to Bud and assigns him to the Amos's house. It's hard living with a boy that is 2 year older than he is. So Bud decides to run away. He finds a library, and has breakfast. Now it is time to start looking for his dad. He walked for a long time. But he sees someone he recognizes. He finally found his dad!

I liked Bud not buddy because it is exiting.

My favorite part is when he found his dad!

Eleven-year-old Elijah is living in Buxton, Canada, with his best friend, Cooter, going to school and everything. Suddenly, their preacher stole Elijah's neighbor's (Mr. Leroy) money! Now the two of them are going for the preacher/thief. On the trip Mr. Leroy dies. Before he does, Elijah promises he will shoot the preacher. Well in the end he doesn't, because the preacher is trapped by white men. Elijah meets Chloe. She gives him her baby (Hope)to raise.

I like Elijah oF Buxton because it is a combination of cool, exiting, and awesome.

My favorite part is when Hope stares at Elijah's finger when he is pointing to the sky.

Steven, Russell, and Richelle are the Flint Future Detectives, and they are going on a mission to Ourside, a place you get to through a magical window. They meet a lot of people: Mr. Chickee, Ms. Tiptip, Horton, and Buster B. Bails. They had lots of awesome and exciting adventures and fun!

I kind of liked the book. The reason why I kind of liked it is because there are a couple of exciting parts. The reason that I kind of didn't like it is because it wasn't as exciting as other books I've read. My favorite part is when Buster B. Bails defeats the Ursa Theodora-Saura.
