Renewable Energy Webquest
Alright, so far we have discussed types of energy: potential and kinetic. Forms of energy: radiant, electromagnetic, electrical, thermal, nuclear and chemical. Then we learned about energy transformations: the changing of energy from one form to another. We know that the Law of Conservation of Energy states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, it just changes forms. See below.
Next Stop: Energy Sources
Energy sources are broken into two groups, renewable and non-renewable. Renewable means it can be used over and over. Non-renewable means it is only used once and that's it. You can see examples of them both below.
So Now What?
You are going on a quest....a little journey to become very knowledgeable about your energy resource. We will focus ONLY on renewable resources. This is the beginning of gathering information for our debate over energy resources so get smart, the more knowledgeable you are, the better the debate. You will be in groups of 5, each of you will have a renewable energy resource to focus on. Please disregard the Post Falls references....it's a long story and I'm sure you don't want to hear it. So, click the button below and begin webquest. You have 48 hours or two class periods.
