Oil Spill Math Project

How I started my project is by making different shapes in the map and when the map was all split up in shapes, I measured the shapes. For triangles I had to measure the base and height of the shape and then I had to multiply the base by 15 and the height by 15 to convert the centimeters to miles. When I had my centimeters converted to miles I multiplied the new numbers to get the area of the shape, but I'm not done yet, since its a triangle I have to divide it by two. Now the rectangles are simpler I just have to get the base and height in centimeters and then multiply them both by 15 and then multiply the new numbers we have and then you have the area of a rectangle.
