Hello, equestrians and gamers! Welcome to Riding High For Nerds! I, QuackGoesDucky, am here to keep you updated with the equestrian MMORPG, Riding High!
Who is QuackGoesDucky?
You may have figured this out by now, but I'm the creator of this page, QuackGoesDucky! My real name is Jessica. I enjoy riding horses, gaming, reading, and wasting my time on the internet! I'm really not that interesting, but trust me, I'm very cool.
Now that you know who I am, let's get to the good stuff....
In Riding High, you get to customize your own character. You'll be able to ride around on horse-back with your friends and even choose a faction!
In the universe of Riding High, there are several islands which you can travel to by boat or bridges. There are different types of climates. For example, some places may be colder or warmer than other places. You will have the freedom to go camping, hiking, and trail riding with friends! Don't forget to buy a pair of mechanical wings so you and your horse can fly away into the sunset!
Before you crash into the moon with your flying horse, we should check out what it's like on the ground first! Is your horse tired from flying into mountains? No problem? She or he can rest in your stable for awhile. Maybe you can watch your friends ride their horses in the paddock until your horse has more energy! Their horses are tired too? They can rest in your stable too along with your horse!
You will be able to join a faction.
You should know that Riding High didn't actually create the horses in their game. The credit goes to a company called HiveWire. At first, they used DAZ's horse models. That was until October 25th in 2014 when they were still in early development, when the Riding High team announced that they would no longer be using DAZ's horse models "for different reasons, but mainly because the HiveWire-Model is just so much better" on their facebook page. The fans loved the decision of switching to HiveWire!
A horse's color will depend on what color his or her parents were. For example: If a grey stallion and a dappled mare had a little filly, her coat would be grey or dappled. But color doesn't matter, what's important is on the inside! Each horse has their own personality! Some horses are playful, others are lazy. Some are friendly, others are stubborn. Your horse may like or dislike you, depending on how you treat him or her.
Variety of Breeds
Like Star Stable Online, Riding High will have several different horse breeds. Some horse breeds that you will see in the game are...
- Akhal Teke
- Shetland Pony
You will have the freedom to join or create a riding guild! A guild is a formal version of a club. Riding guilds will be a wonderful way to make friends in the game!
Membership & Ranks
The creator of the riding guild can assign ranks to each member. For example, the owner of the guild can set another player as the "co-owner" or a "new member". The "co-owner" would probably be a higher rank than the "new member". The guild owner can also choose a new name for that rank! Maybe the guild owner wants to call the "co-owner" an "Epic Walrus" instead or call the "new member" a "Cool Unicorn". This is just one of the many things that can make our riding guilds unique!
If you want to show off how cool you and your fellow guild members are because you're a jerk, you can wear your guild's armor with the guild logo on it!
You may or may not notice players riding green winged ponies or purple unicorns in the game. "QuackGoesDucky, where on Earth did those horses come from?" you may ask. Those are beta horses.
During December 2013, when Riding High was still in heavy development, the Riding High team let their fans donate. If you donated, you would get a free beta key along with a Christmas foal. The donor was able to choose their foal's breed, appearance, and name. Not every Christmas foal is a rainbow pegasus. Most donors decided to be realistic and asked for a average-looking foal.
