Richard deGorter, Managing Member of Biofuels Development Partners LLC

An experienced real estate developer in the mid-Atlantic region, Richard deGorter currently heads several diversified manufacturing and real estate development companies. Biofuels Development Partners LLC, is developing wood pellet production facilities in Georgia where Mr. deGorter is responsible for contract negotiations, due diligence, zoning, and regulatory approvals. Crescent Development Partners LLC is focused on developing other real properties including a master-planned, mixed-use community in Bowie, Maryland.

Mr. deGorter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Hobart College and has pursued graduate studies at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. He maintains a strong commitment to higher education, and was recently a guest lecturer for full-time students pursuing their Master of Science in Real Estate and Infrastructure at Johns Hopkins University's Carey Business School. Additionally, he is collaborating with the University of Maryland and with Bowie State University, utilizing the concept of Health-Centered Design to develop Healthy and Sustainable communities.

Outside of work, Mr. deGorter pursues a range of activities that includes co-founding and serving as Executive Director of the non-profit Linked Economic Development and Affordable Housing Foundation.
