Our Written Communication course was recently changed, making it bigger and (hopefully) better! One of the additions involved in the course expansion is a personal research project. What does this mean to you? Well, for this assignment, you’ll be trying your hand at searching for reliable sources, using and citing sources, and creating a project that combines your work with the work of experts. This webinar is an introduction to the new assignment, giving you the information you need to get started. We’ll go over everything from your topic choices to why citing your sources is important. Please join us!

Conducting research involves much more than just using a keyword search in Google; it involves finding AND evaluating sources in various media using the CARS test, resulting in quality resources that will effectively reinforce your ideas and improve your essay. Citing sources involves much more than just offering the name of a book or a web address; it involves understanding and using MLA formatting and citation guidelines, resulting in clear and effective formatting that allows the reader to understand and appreciate your ideas. In every aspect of research and citation, accuracy is important, not only for the good of your writing, but for your reputation as a writer. Join us to find out how important it really is… and how a lack of accuracy can affect you.
