Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni
Michelangelo was born on May 6, 1475 in Caperese, Italy.
In his family there was his father (Ludovico di Leonardo Buonarroti Simoni) and his mother (Francesca di Neri del Miniatodi Siena).
When Michelangelo was a young teenager he was sent to Florence, Italy to study grammar, but he had no interest in it.
Michelangelo was an Italian sculptor, painter, architect, poet, and engineer of the High Renaissance. His work was influenced on the development of Western Art.
He sculpted a portrait called "Madonna of the Steps", "David", and "Pieta."
He painted the Sistine Chapel ceiling from 1508-1512.
Michelangelo looks like an old skinny man with gray hair and a beard.
Michelangelo was very creative and artistic, but was also considered very arrogant.
He died at the age of 69 in 1564.
