ISIS Attack in Garland
On May 4th 2015, on a monday night in a suburb outside of Dallas called Garland two men with connections to ISIS opened fire on a "Draw the Prophet Muhammed" contest. The two men were roommates Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi which claimed allegiance to ISIS. Elton Simpson had been under FBI surveillance since 2006 and was convicted of lying to federal agents years ago about his plans to allegedly join a terror group in Africa. The men drove up to an entrance of the complex that had a squad car guarding the doors. The men got out and ran to the back of the car and started shooting at on duty police officers and security guards with automatic rifles and bullet proof vests.
