You should not be overly worried about your moles. But you should know:
A type of skin cancer, melanoma, can grow in or near a mole. Caught early and treated, melanoma can be cured.
Moles have a scientific name called nevi. The common name for this disorder is referred to as true moles. Moles occur when cells in the skin grow in a cluster instead of being spread throughout the skin.
Symptoms for moles are:
- 1 color - Often brown, but a mole can be tan, black, red, pink, blue, skin-toned, or colorless.
- Round in shape.
- Flat or slightly raised.
Most moles don't require treatment, but sometimes a dermatologist will remove a mole. Moles can be burned or surgically cut off. you should not try and cut a mole off by yourself because moles contain cancer which if hits the skin can cause skin cancer.
How you prevent moles is by covering up the skin or anywhere you have a previous mole to protect from the sun. It is not known when this disorder is first diagnosed or who first diagnosed it.
