About Robert Liljeberg
Board-certified orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Robert Liljeberg balances his career with professional development and community engagement. The recipient of a medical degree from Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Medicine in New Orleans, he went on to complete his residency at one of the country’s leading facilities for orthopaedic medicine, the Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee. Following his residency and a yearlong fellowship in sports medicine at Tulane University Medical Center, he went into private practice. In 2013, Dr. Robert Liljeberg joined Troy Regional Medical Center of Troy, Alabama; he serves as the hospital’s only orthopaedic practitioner.
Outside of the office, Dr. Robert Liljeberg participates in several professional groups, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Over the course of his career, he has also helped to train medical students, serving as an adjunct faculty member and guest lecturer at Lenoir-Rhyne University in North Carolina. Additionally, he has been a preceptor at Wingate University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
In his free time, Dr. Robert Liljeberg follows professional and college sports teams, including the Carolina Panthers and the LSU Tigers. He also provides sports coverage for local high school athletic teams.
