Robert Rosenkranz - Insurance Executive and Philanthropist
Throughout his career in the financial industry, Robert Rosenkranz has established himself as an accomplished insurance executive in New York City. He currently serves as the chief executive officer of Delphi Financial Group, Inc., a leading financial holding company that concentrates on specialty insurance and insurance-related businesses in North America. Under the strategic leadership of Robert Rosenkranz and fellow members of the executive team, Delphi Financial Group has grown some 20 fold, to approximately $14 billion in assets under management. In 2012, Rosenkranz oversaw the sale of the Delphi Financial Group to the Tokio Marine Group.
Delphi had been a major investment of Rosenkranz & Co, a private equity firm Robert Rosenkranz founded in 1980. He began his financial career in New York City with Oppenheimer & Company a research and investment banking firm where he became a general partner, Previously, he performed research on foreign policy issues and municipal finance as an economist with the RAND Corporation. He also worked as a tax attorney with the New York offices of Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP.
A member of the Board of Directors of Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, Robert Rosenkranz also serves on the boards of the Film Society of Lincoln Center and the Policy Exchange think tank in London. Moreover, he is the chairman of The Rosenkranz Foundation, through which he supports a wide variety of organizations in public policy and higher education, as well as Asian art. Mr. Rosenkranz received a juris doctor from Harvard Law School. Previously, he graduated summa cum laude from Yale University.
