How were Zeppelins used in WWI
Zeppelins are large, lighter-than-air-airships that were named after the German Count Ferdinand Von Zeppelin. The count was a war observer during the civil war. He didn't think Germany was developing in the airship category and needed dirigibles for the military. The first successful flight of the zeppelin was on July 2,1900. During WWI, the Germans mainly used zeppelins to bomb and raid Great Britain. However, the Zeppelins move very slowly and were easy to shoot down. Toward the end of the war, when weapons mounted on planes began to get popular, the zeppelin became practically useless.
