Laozi, By Spencer White
In my character collage I have chosen Laozi. Laozi was a ancient Chinese philosopher and a author of a writing seminal called the "Dao De Jing" created during the "Hundred Schools of Thought" and "Warring States Period". He "became a popular deity in the Taoist religion's pantheon"."He has become an important culture hero to subsequent generations of Chinese people". This seems to me that he was a big impact on Chinese culture and also he kinda looks like Santa Clause
This an ancient Chinese symbol called "Yin and Yang". "Yin"is the black side and represents the dark side and "Yang" is the white side and represents the bright side. " results from an imbalance in Yin and Yang, and good comes from the two being in harmonic balance". This symbol looks like swirl with two dots on the opposite color ,side just my opinion of what it looks like and doesn't really look like it means peace and pain.
this is called the "Laozi and Zhang Daoling Charm" this charm is nicknames "he boy under the pine tree"."In the gap above the pine tree can be seen a full moon where the “Jade Rabbit” lives and makes the “elixir of immortality”. "According to Daoist accounts, Laozi appeared before Zhang Daoling on “Crane Cry Mountain"and worships an immortal". This charm seems like being demonic where its used for immortality and this doesn't look like a demonic charm it looks like a coin used for spending money.
This is the writing seminal created Laozi called the "Dao De Jing". The"Dao De Jing" is translated and called "The Book of Changes"."A key term in the philosophical vocabulary, it informs early Chinese philosophy as a whole. It is interpreted differently, signifying a means to a higher end in some writings and as an end in itself in others. The Laozi underscores both the ineffability and creative power of Dao. This is distinctive and if one accepts the early provenance of the text, charts a new course in the development of Chinese philosophy". This book seem to me like this made a huge impact on Chinese history and looks like a approved bill because of the stamp.
