Background on Propaganda

-political propaganda try and persuade people to vote for them or their party.

-political propaganda also tries to sway the person to vote on an upcoming decision.

-some propaganda is used for entertainment.

-they send messages about what is going on and how people should live their lives.

-it increases peoples self esteem by giving them hope that everything will turn out fine.

-usually they either makes the person go against or with something or someone.

-propaganda is a form of communication that is aimed at influencing the attitude of a community toward some cause or position so as to benefit oneself or one's group.

-propaganda was often used to influence opinions and beliefs on religious issues.

-cartoon propaganda grabs the readers attention because most are funny.

-because they are funny, most people listen because it is portrayed in a funny way.

Famous Example

The Holocaust: Hitler used to print media to generate anti Jews.

-Hitler accused Jews of stealing German land and kidnapping small kids.

-using propaganda to persuade the Germans against the Jews was a great way for Hitler to win over not only men and women, but children who can be easily influenced.

-Hitler made it seem like he was fighting for the cause which got many to side with him.
