Textbook Inventory - I'll be requesting names of students who are missing a book.  Encourage students to bring in the book.  I can tell you the price of the book if the student knows it is lost.

STAR Reports

I created a "how to" presentation to guide teachers in utilizing valuable STAR Report information.  STAR Report Presentation

Second Semester

Mr. Solley recently commented about upcoming changes within our system in his weekly newsletter to administrators.  He used a quote from Anderson and Feltenstein (2009) to express our general reaction to the thought of change  - "Change is good...you go first."   It is going to be very interesting to see how the future of Sparkman High School develops.  Many will comment and discuss without truly understanding what the changes will mean to them. While we will have many changes occurring soon, one constant occurs - Students will arrive each day expecting us to educate them.  You are all a fabulous group of educators!  Let's do our best to make some personal improvements to ensure we've given students our best.  Consider the following:

*Accentuate your strengths and pick a weak area to improve.

*Have as high of expectations of yourself as you do of your students.

*Have high expectations of your students.

*Keep students safe.  Unattended students are students about to create trouble.

*Learn a new method for instruction/management/assessment and try it.

*Set up procedures for your students on day one.

*Focus on the positive.  Sometimes we have to choose our attitude.  It can be difficult, but it isn't impossible.

I hope students do well on exams this week.

Have a great week!
