Automotive engineering

Automotive engineers perform designing and building cars. They make about $68,340 a year as in 2011. In order to be an automotive engineer you have to get a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Most automotive engineers work inside.  

Peter Whitlock

Peter Whitelock is an automotive engineer. He works for a company called Holden. His job is to push the gearbox to the limit on new model Holden cars. He works between two of Holden's work sites. He has a hands-on job which means he spends a lot of time behind the wheel testing vehicles and the gearbox.
