The purpose of this website is because we were having a research project and I chose Gabby Douglas as my research topic. For the past few weeks we have been working on our research/nonfiction skills and with all of those we are making projects with whoever we want and using our researching skills. We had to make an interactive and informational website for our final project.

Her first name is Gabrielle and her hometown is Virginia Beach, VA. She was home schooled and still is with all of her training. She began gymnastics in 2002 and her favorite event is floor and beam.
How she got involved in gymnastics;My older sister, Arielle, talked my mom into enrolling me because she thought I would be a good gymnast. Her favorite thing to learn in gymnastics was learning new skills and competing the U.S. Her goals are to make the World and Olympic Teams. Her parents’ names were Natalie and Timothy Douglas and her siblings were; Older sisters Arielle and Joyelle and older brother Johnathan. These are the sports her siblings tool. Arielle - ballroom dancing. Joyelle - figure skating. Johnathan - football, track and martial arts.Her intrests outside the gym were Favorite school subject: English Hobbies or favorite activities: Reading, knitting Favorite book(s): Twilight Favorite TV show(s): Vampire Diaries and Favorite Food: Mexican and Italian.

Why she left olympic coach
As many Gabby Douglas fans they know that Liang Chow old coach of Gabby Douglas. Not very many people know but recently when training last year she got really home sick, her family moved to Los Angeles. She didn’t want to be home sick once again so she decided to move close to her family so she decided not to be a part of Liang Chows Gymnastics and Dance business. Because of the move Gabby is forced to join another gym and that’s exactly what she did.

On December 31, 1995 Gabby Douglas was born in Virginia Beach. She began gymnastics on April 2, 2002 at the age of six. June seventeenth 2003 Gabby won a championship at only eight years old. Gabby’s dad was deployed overseas as an Air National Guard member, because of all of that so she got close to a family that provided her with stability as her single mother was struggling. At the age of twelve Gabby met Shawn Johnson’s coach Liang Chow on March 3, 2010. On May 18, 2011 Gabby was a part of the US gymnastics team who won gold at the Artistic Nation Gymnastics Championship. July 29, 2012 finally arrived it was the London Olympic games she won the team gold medal and she was the first African American to win gold in the individual all-around gold medal.
