Edgar Allan Poe
Surprisingly, Edgar has a life of his own! He's an amazing writer, who writes mystery books, magazines, and novels. He had a brother named William Henry Leonard Poe, and a sister named Rosalie Poe, both died at a young age.
Within three years of Poe’s birth both of his parents had died, so he stayed with a wealthy tobacco merchant John Allan and his wife Frances Valentine Allan in Richmond.
In 1826 Poe left Richmond to attend the University of Virginia, He started gambling to raise money for his expenses.
Poe returned to Richmond and visited the home of his fiancée Elmira Royster, only to find out, she was with another man.
He was enlisted in the U.S Army. After only eight months at West Point Poe was thrown out, but he soon published another book.
Poe’s aunt Maria Clemm, became a new mother to him and welcomed him into her home.
He started publishing magazines, and that's when it lead him into publishing his poetry, becoming more confident, and one of his published books became very popular named the, "Messenger"
