Texas Southern University
The college I chose is TSU.
I chose TSU, because there are many things about TSU that draw my attention; including where it's located.
TSU is located in downtown Houston, Texas. Houston is the 4th largest city in the USA. Around the fall time, there are many things to do in Houston like, the Fall Festival, Haunted Houses, Boo Bashes, you can pick your "perfect" tour, and you can dine on the patio's.
The undergraduate enrollment at TSU is 6,288. There are more than 9,500 students and nearly 1,500 faculty members. Another thing about TSU is that they have a motto ;unlike some colleges. Their motto is "Excellence in Achievement", their school colors are maroon & grey, and they were established on June 1st, 1951.
Texas Southern University is in a very urban area. So as a student you could find many different things to do. For an undergraduate admission (as a high school student) you would need a transcript with a minimum 2.5 GPA on 4.0 scale, SAT score of 820+ (math & critical reading only) or ACT composite score of 17+. As a transfer student, you'd need a transcript from ALL previous institutions with at least 15 hours of college unit, minimum 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, SAT/ACT scores; minimum SAT score of 820, and a minimum ACT of a 17. You would also need (as a transfer student) document of non-accredited high school/home school students is required for admission. Also deadlines for applications are: July 15th for the fall, November 15th for the spring, May 15th for summer 1, and June 15th for summer 2.
51% of classes at TSU have 20-49 students. 38% of classes have less than 20 students. 11% of classes have 50 or more students. So; as you can see, the classes at Texas Southern University aren't that big for the most part; therefore, the learning experience is better. Also, the school is co-ed with a percent of male and females as: 41% male, and 59% female. About 24% of students live on campus, and about 76% li8ve off campus; so you know if you want to live on campus, it won't be that crowded.
TSU has one of the most diverse faculties, they compete in the NCAA Division 1 Southwestern Athletic Conference, with a legendary debate team, an Award-Winning Ocean of Soul Marching Band, and they have a 45% acceptance rate.
