Atom-The basic unit for a chemical element.

Compound-A thing that is composed of two or more separate elements.

Element-A part or aspect of something abstract,especially something that is essential or characteristic.

Heterogeneous mixture-A mixture that is not uniform in composition.

Homogeneous mixture-A mixture that has uniform compositions and properties throughout.

Law of Constant Composition-States that all samples of a given chemical compound have the same elemental composition by mass.

Matter-A physical substance that takes up space and possesses rest mass.

Molecule-A group of atoms bonded together,representing the smallest fundamental unit of a chemical compound that can take part in a chemical reaction.
