Ooze Tube Irrigation

By Savannah and Marquan

WHAT IS AN OOZE TUBE?

An Ooze Tube is a bag full of several gallons of water that goes around a plant. The bag lets the water out of the bottom into the ground for the roots and has to be refilled a couple times a week. There are different sized bags for different sized plants.

HOW DOES AN OOZE TUBE WORK?

The first few days after you fill the ooze tube, the plant gets a lot of water. After a while the plant begins to notice that its water supply is being gradually reduced and starts sending out feeder rooots, looking for more water. That is when you have to refill the bag so the plant still gets water.

WHERE CAN YOU FIND IT?

You can find an ooze tube anywhere. Outside in a yard, in a garden, anywhere it can fit that has a plant with soil that needs watering.

WHAT PLANTS CAN BE USED?

Any kind of tree, multi-stems, or conifers. Can be used for most plants that have the space for it.

Three specific plants that can an ooze tube can be used for are tomatoes, apple trees, and peach trees.
