Impression Management

Impression management is the effort to control or influence the perceptions of other people. This could be their perception of a certain person (this includes you!), a material possession, or an event.  Basically, impression management is how you present yourself to the world.  You are seen by what you wear, how you look, and what you do.  We see many people in the world and we base who they are off of what they do, wear, or look like.  Many people in the music industry wear nice clothes and fancy things.  While other people who might be poor do not wear as nice stuff.  Some people do not care about how they look in public, while other people do care.  It is important to make a good impression when applying for a job in the real world.  Looking successful and nice will get you more opportunities in life.

As seen in this picture, the mans appearance is professional.  Most companies would want to hire someone who looks like that.  By looking at this image you can easily tell that this man cares about the way that he looks and is trying to make a good impression

In this picture, each person looks professional.  They must have a very important job.  The first impression you make could be your last.  A firm handshake is also vital in your impression.

Many companies know what they are looking for when they are hiring someone.  They want someone who has a good appearance and works hard.  In the picture the guy looks clean.  He also looks like he might work really hard.  First impression is everything.

The woman in this picture looks very successful.  She has a nice big smile and is prepared for a firm handshake.  She is nicely dressed in professional clothes.  Her first impression seems to be going pretty well.

Your impression is influenced by things that are all around you.  Examples are: what you wear, your appearance, the items you have, how you act, and many more.  Dressing nice and looking clean is important.  Don't let your impression be bad.

Reflection Paragraph

This year has been a lot tougher than last year.  The college classes that I was in were very challenging and required a lot of time and hard work.  I am glad to say that they are over for the year.  My views and beliefs have not changed since last year.  I am who I have been for the past year.  I would not say that my identity has changed but I would say that I have changed some.  Year after year, I become a better worker and person.  Overall, I feel as if I am growing as a person more and more everyday into who I want to be.
