About Scott Cathcart
With more than 20 years of experience as an advisor and investor in emerging growth and start-up companies, Scott Cathcart serves as chief executive officer of Cathcart Strategic Advisers in San Francisco. In this capacity, he assists clients in growing their businesses, streamlining operations, raising capital, and increasing revenues. Scott Cathcart has particular expertise in product and brand marketing strategy, venture capital investing, new product development, and the cultivation of intellectual property.
Mr. Cathcart graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor of arts in advertising and communications. He continued to support his alma mater by serving on the advisory board of the UVa Gift Planning Council for seven years.
Along with Cathcart Strategic Advisers, Scott Cathcart has served as the CEO or senior advisor to multiple start-up ventures, he has served on a variety of boards in both business and volunteer capacities, and he has been an active investor. As an advertising executive, he served as a partner and management supervisor at J. Walter Thompson. Mr. Cathcart also has served in senior-level positions for other well-known, global advertising agencies, including BBDO and Ogilvy & Mather.
In his spare time, Scott Cathcart enjoys running, cycling, swimming (when he has to for triathlons), and skiing.
