About Scott Mitchell Klein
Established as a south Florida corporate tax consultant, Scott Klein serves as a Manager at Deloitte Tax LLP. Prior to joining the international tax practice at Deloitte, Scott worked in the tax practice at Ernst & Young where he focused on transaction tax matters, primarily assisting Fortune 1000 companies with complex acquisition planning, post merger integration and internal restructuring. Some of Mr. Klein's ordinary assignments at Ernst & Young included U.S. tax treaty interpretation, inbound financing structures, IP migration, supply chain restructuring, inbound and outbound stock and asset sales and various repatriation planning to meet clients' business needs in tax efficient manners. In one notable assignment, Scott Klein assisted a Fortune 100 company with pre-acquisition structuring to facilitate the purchase of a $5 billion foreign target.
Mr. Klein is an attorney and a certified public accountant and completed his master of laws in taxation at Georgetown University in 2011. He undertook a six-month judicial externship with the U.S. Tax Court under the Honorable Juan F. Vasquez, which involved dedicated research and analysis and the preparation of tax opinions. While completing his juris doctorate degree at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Mr. Klein volunteered at the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic at Broward County Legal Aid, where he assisted clients in resolving their administrative proceedings against the IRS. Prior to law school, Mr. Klein worked as a staff accountant at the Deerfield Beach firm of JD Gilbert CPAs, where he provided tax compliance and consulting, audit and forensic accounting services.
