About Scott Robbins Dothan

Scott Robbins, MD, a surgeon based in Dothan, Alabama, provides excellent care to patients at Wiregrass Surgical Associates, affiliated with Flowers Hospital. He has been engaged with Wiregrass Surgical Associates since he completed his residency training at the Department of Surgery, University of South Alabama Hospitals and Clinics in 2001. Licensed as a physician, Dr. Scott Robbins is also board certified by the American Board of Surgery and maintains memberships with the American Society of Bariatric Surgery and the American College of Surgeons.

During his training and his subsequent medical career, Dr. Robbins has earned several awards and honors. He was recognized as Best Intern in 1997 by the University of South Alabama and was named the Best Resident from 1998 to 2000. He has also served as a presenter at the 2001 Southeastern Surgical Congress, where he spoke about the decrease in wound complications during a laparoscopic herniorrhaphy versus open ventral herniorrhaphy.

Scott Robbins, MD, has participated in several clinical research trials and regularly performs advanced laparoscopic surgery. Focusing mainly on breast cancer and bariatric procedures, he participates in the Corporate Advisory Board for Allergan, which is the maker of the LapBand.

In addition to his commitment to patients, Dr. Robbins is also committed to supporting the Dothan community. In his spare hours, he coaches Little League and church league basketball and supports the Child Advocacy Center.
