About Sean Fahey Claren Road
An accomplished financial executive with two decades of experience
in his field, Sean Fahey began his professional career after completing
his undergraduate education. More specifically, Sean Fahey graduated
from the North Carolina School of Science and Math in 1989, after which
he matriculated at Duke University on a full mathematics scholarship.
Four years later, he graduated from Duke with summa cum laude honors and
a bachelor’s degree in economics.
In 1993, Sean Fahey accepted a position with Salomon Brothers, where he spent two years working in the Liability Management Group. He spent the majority of his time with the firm as a U.S. corporate bond trader until he was promoted to Managing Director and Head of Citigroup’s Global Emerging Markets External Debt Trading. He oversaw a $2 billion trading position regarding corporate and sovereign debt.
Leaving Citigroup in 2005, Sean Fahey co-founded Claren Road Asset Management, LLC. Drawing on his personal expertise and that of his co-founders, he manages over $7 billion in hedge funds. Currently, his firm has 60 employees spread across four locations.
