Three Top Locations to Visit in the Isle of Capri

A former Georgia senator, Preston Smith currently presides over Tyler & Company and sits on the board of the Georgia Association of Healthcare Executives. In his leisure time, Preston Smith enjoys traveling to beautiful destinations, such as the Isle of Capri.

Located in the Mediterranean Sea just off the Italian coast, the Isle of Capri offers a variety of sights and experiences for its visitors. Travelers headed to Italy should consider checking out the following sites around the island:

1. The Blue Grotto

One of the top destinations in Italy, the Blue Grotto is a cave that tourists can only reach by boat. Small rowboats take one or two guests into the cave, which fills with a blue-silver light that creates an unforgettable effect on the surrounding rocks and water.

2. Gardens of Augustus

The Gardens of Augustus serve both as an interesting place to visit and an enviable lookout point. A mazelike layout makes for an entertaining exploration of the local foliage, and tourists can pause at any minute to enjoy the view of the water.

3. Mount Solaro

Another popular activity involves riding a chairlift up to the peak of Mount Solaro. There, visitors can take pictures and stop at the mountaintop café. Visitors also have the option of walking back down, and people often stop to tour the Cetrella chapel while doing so.
