SFHS  Summer Sessions 2016

  • All workshops will be held in the Rosmonowski Room, unless otherwise noted.
  • Workshops will be capped at 20 participants (first come, first served basis) and may be cancelled if there is not enough interest.  
  • You will receive notice of a cancelled session VIA EMAIL at least two days in advance.
  • Upcoming session topics and locations may change as the summer goes on.  This site will always have the most current version of the schedule.
  • Please bring your own computer to these sessions. Also, note that these sessions are not geared towards iPads!

$50.00 per session/per teacher (non-Catholic school)
$35.00 per session/per teacher (Catholic school)

Workshop Schedule

Monday, June 6

8:00 - 11:00 am ..... OneNote

This session will involve taking a pre-test to assess where everybody is at in terms of their OneNote abilities. Topics will be determined based on results of the pre-test.

Monday, June 13

8:00 - 11:00 am ... NearPod and Formative

Both NearPod and Formative allow for teachers to receive instant feedback from students. Teachers will learn the basics of BOTH sites and then will be given time to create a presentation/lesson in the program of their choosing.

Wednesday, June 15

8:00 - 11:00 am ... GoogleEarth and Virtual Field Trips

Google Earth is for more than just driving directions! Learn how your students can explore every corner of the world, without leaving your classroom. Teachers will learn how to create their own virtual field trips as well as how to tap in to the many others that have already been made.

Monday, June 20

8:00 - 11:00 am ... Skype Classroom

Connect with classrooms across the country or across the globe by partnering through Skype Classroom! We will dig into the many free resources available and simulate a Skype Classroom lesson.

Wednesday, June 22

8:00 - 11:00 am ... OneNote

Monday, June 27

8:00 - 11:00 am ... Twitter in Education

Learn how to use Twitter, not only in your classroom, but for professional development, networking, and personal learning!

Teachers do not need to have accounts before they come to this session. We will make accounts as part of the workshop!
