About Shaylin P. Chock
A board-certified psychiatrist based in Los Angeles, Shaylin P. Chock, MD, currently serves as a psychiatric emergency room physician at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Shaylin P. Chock also holds the position of attending psychiatrist at Gateways Hospital & Mental Health Center, and is completing a fellowship in the LAC+USC Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training program.
Over the course of her career as a psychiatrist, Dr. Chock has undertaken a number of research projects. She also has delivered presentations on the neurobiology of methamphetamine addiction, taser use in mental health situations, the legal aspects of the psychiatric hold, and other topics.
Dr. Chock earned a bachelor’s degree in life science at the University of Portland in 1999. She went on to complete an MD at the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s John A. Burns School of Medicine. During her doctoral studies, she received the Dr. Hans and Clara Zimmerman Foundation Health Scholarship and the Nadine Alexander Kahanamoku Scholarship for merit and community service.
