My brother told me that our grandfather told me that the erosion grooves on the cliffs in Waite Hill (east of Cleveland), visible from Route 2, were caused by wolfmen. Half man, half wolf, they slide down the cliffs and attacked cars, particularly those with little girls in them. If you got bitten, you died. Mauled and wounded? You turned into one of them. For years, I'd wiggle out of my seatbelt and took cover on the floor whenever we passed those cliffs. Surely, my blankie draped over me would be shield enough from those vicious things.

My scarring story was by a neighbor since my brothers were younger. We had these trees by our house that dropped little brown balls in the summer. She said they were monkey balls and at night the monkey that lived in that tree would drop them down. I was terrified that a whole gang of monkeys were going to descend that tree and attack me every single time I passed it.

My mom told her older brother that ice cream cones were made of wood. And he refused to eat them for years afterwards!

There is so many I don't know where to start! My older sister used to have "massage competitions" between my cousin and I. Each of us would have to rub/scratch her head, arms, legs, feet, and back. And whoever won-got a prize. Even at a young age I was very competitive and wanted to win whatever ridiculous prize she chose (once it was a ball of yarn!). Everytime she let my cousin win! I knew I did a better job! She would tell me later that she let Lily everytime because she didn't want to hurt her feelings, but what about mine?!?! In addition to be highly competitive at 7-I guess I was extremely prideful as well. Those massage competitions have held a spot in my heart over the years. I guess what I am really saying is...I demand a rematch!!!!

@jackiebockmuller that's what she was doing and that's why she was genius! She knew I would try my hardest to win each time.
