About Suken Shah

A medical professional based in Delaware, Suken Shah, MD, prepared for his career as a student at Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a bachelor of science with honors. After graduating, he gained acceptance to Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, from which he received his doctor of medicine. Following this, Dr. Shah undertook postgraduate training at the Philadelphia Hospital Department of Surgery, where he completed an internship in general surgery, and the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University, where he served as chief resident.

Suken Shah, MD, completed his formal training with a fellowship in pediatric orthopedics and scoliosis surgery at the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware. He currently serves the hospital as an attending pediatric orthopaedic surgeon, clinical fellowship director, and division chief of spine and scoliosis service.

In addition to fulfilling his responsibilities as a surgeon and division chief, Dr. Suken Shah devotes time and resources to charitable endeavors including the Hospital Capital Campaign and the Setting Scoliosis Straight Foundation. Furthermore, he has served on the Board of Directors of the Scoliosis Research Society and chaired the Program Committee and Growing Spine Committee. He also serves as an active member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and has chaired numerous committees.
