Dr. Suzanne Cleland-Zamudio – Hippotherapy Specialist
A board-certified otolaryngologist and head and neck surgeon, Suzanne Cleland-Zamudio, M.D., provides comprehensive professional medical care to patients at Portland Ear Nose & Throat Specialists in Oregon. Additionally, the physician has served physically challenged adults and children for more than a decade through equine therapy, or hippotherapy, a medically approved form of physical and occupational therapy used with individuals with mental, physical, or emotional challenges. Having grown up on a pony farm, Dr. Suzanne Cleland-Zamudio learned at a youngster the therapeutic effect that horseback riding can have on disabled individuals of all ages. In 2008, she founded Sycamore Lane Therapeutic Riding Center, named after her family’s business, Sycamore Lane Welsh Pony Farm.
Educated at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, where she earned her medical degree, Dr. Suzanne Cleland-Zamudio completed her residency at Hennepin County Medical Center at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Additionally, she has a master’s degree in obstructive sleep apnea. Her surgical certifications include facial and reconstructive plastic surgery and facial trauma care.
