Recently Google Apps for Education launched a new app available from the Web Store called Google Classroom. Google Classroom has a professional, yet simple and clean layout for a virtual classroom. Students can join a class created by a library media specialist or a teacher by downloading the app, selecting “student’ and then entering in the code from his or her teacher librarian.

In the virtual classroom, students can view all online materials needed for a class including links and attachments. If a teacher posts a document from Google Drive into Google Classroom, students do not need to make their own copy of the document to begin writing on it. (They used to have to do this in Google Drive.) Students also do not need to save their document or share their document back with their teacher when they are done because it automatically syncs with their teacher’s Google Drive.
Add PDF’s, pictures, videos and more all while fostering discussion and increasing digital literacy skills in your students while using Google Classroom!
