       Kim Campbell was born on the 10th of March, 1947, in Port Alberni, British Columbia. Her father was Thomas Campbell (1920-2002) and her mother was Phyllis 'Lisa" Cook. Kim's mother left the family when Kim was only 12. She left them with her sister Alix to be raised by their father.

       When she was a teen, Kim was a host and reporter on the CBC children's program Junior Television Club.



Her family moved to Vancouver, where she attended Prince of Wales Secondary School. She became the first female to be a student president at her school. She graduated high school in 1964.
