Point

Location on a plane

1

Plane

Flat surface that extends forever.

2

Intersecting Lines

Lines that have one and only one point in common

3

Parallel Lines

Two lines on a plane that never meet and are the same distance apart

4

Vertical Lines

A line perpendicular to a surface or to another line.

5

Horizontal Line

Left to right line-parallel to the x-axis of the coordinate plane.

6

Obtuse angle

Angle that is more than 90 degrees.

7

Acute Angle

Angle less than 90 degrees.

8

Right Angle

Angle that is 90 degrees.

9

Square

A plane figure with four equal straight sides and four right angles.

10

Rectangle

Plane figure with four straight sides and four right angles.

11

Octagon

Plane figure with 8 straight sides and 8 angles.

12

Adjacent Angles

2 angles that share a side/ common ray.

13

Supplementary Angles

Two angles whose sum is 180 degrees.

14

Circle

Round plane figure whose boundary (circumference) consists of points equidistant from a fixed point (the center)

15

Semi Circle

Half of a circle

16

Cone

Solid or hollow object that tapers from a circular base to a point.

17

Cylinder

Solid figure with straight parallel sides and a circular or oval section.

18

Line

Straight line that extends in both directions without end.

Diameter Of a Circle

Straight line passing from side to side through the center of a body figure. (circle or sphere.)

Radius Of A Circle

Line from the center of the circle to the edge.

Cube

Symmetrical 3- dimensional shape, hollow or solid, contained by 6 equal squares.

Congruent Angles

Sides and angles that are the same length and degrees.

Perpendicular Planes

Planes in which any two intersecting lines, one in each plane, from a right angle.

Congruent Segments

2 segments are congruent if they have the same length.
