About Sydney Davis Santa Fe

  Sydney Davis is an artist, a respected contributor to the Santa Fe community, and an advocate for causes both local and global. She and husband Andrew were recognized by the Albuquerque Journal as 2012 Philanthropists of the Year for their many generous acts and contributions in support of the environment, health care, the arts, and education. They fund the Sydney and Andrew Davis Scholarship for college bound students involved with Breakthrough Santa Fe (, a tuition-free program in which talented high school and college students teach middle school students with limited educational opportunities the academic, organizational and social skills they will need to succeed in competitive high schools.

Sydney Davis serves on the boards of The Lensic Performing Arts Center in Santa Fe and the Wildflower Center at the University of Texas. The financial contributions of Sydney and her family helped make possible the constuction of the National Dance Institute of New Mexicos's Santa Fe Dance Barns, as well as NDI's acquisition and renovation of the Hiland Theater in Albuquerque ( She has also made generous contributions to organizations as diverse as Coming Home Connection, Girls, Inc., the Santa Fe Concert Association, St. Vincent Hospital, and many others.

A cause especially important to Sydney Davis is ocean conservation. As a board member of Oceana, she is an active representative of and fundraiser for the international nonprofit organization's efforts to raise awareness of threats to the world's oceans. She also created the OceanConnection project (, an initiative aimed at creating a quality classroom curriculum addressing ocean issues in conjunction with educators, experts, students, and concerned individuals.

Davis graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in international business and marketing. Beyond her educational and philanthropic activities, she is a jewelry designer and actress, and enjoys scuba diving with her family.
