All Races to Vote!

The Miller News - March 1870 - Paul Miller

Above:  In this picture, you can see an African-American man voting.

Amendment 15 was passed!  Here's what is says:

  • No citizens can be denied the right to vote based on race or skin color.
  • Also, African-Americans cannot be denied the right to vote because they were once slaves.
  • Congress can and will enforce this Amendment 15 by passing new laws to compliment it.
  • African-Americans are especially affected by Amendment 15 because now they can vote.  Voting rights are an important thing, and now African-Americans can help elect our nation's leaders.
