in session 1 we learned about material processing and learned about the history of manufacturing. we learned about some of the inventions that were important in the development of manufacturing.we also learned the proper way to use the z-mill.
In session 2 we learned why tolerance and specifications are important to the manufacturing process. We also learned how to correctly measure and mill a simple geometric shape using the manual control buttons on the zmill.
In session 3 we learned about the machine movement and various speeds as they relate to the z mill. We also manually mild two additional objects to the milling prject we started in the previous activity.
In session 4 we learned about the Cartesian coordinate system and how it relates to machine movement of the z mill. We also learned the software that controls the mill and we also milled simple geometric shapes.
In session 5 we used the z mill software to create text for an engraved nameplate. We also milled the nameplate using the z mill.
In session 6 we used the z mill software to prepare a pre-drawn graphic for the milling process. We also milled a graphic of our choice from clip art.
In session 7 we completed a challenge using the z mill and associated software and added a text.
