Firefighters help rescue people in fire. Firefighters also put out fires. Firefighters make a difference in the world when they save lives. Being a Firefighter is risky because you never know what is going to happen.

What is a typical day or task at you career?

A typical task of being a firefighter is to respond immediately and safely to emergency calls and request for assistance.

What education or training does a person need to have for this career?

A person must at least have a high school diploma and must train in how to perform CPR, fire prevention, hazardous materials control, must know local building controls, and emergency medical procedures ( including first aid).

What personal qualities does a person need to do well at this career?

For firefighting you mostly need strength, flexibility, endurance and 20/20 vision.

What things did you learn in school that helps you most at this career?

Things you learn in school that helps you most in firefighting is usually CPR.

What do you enjoy most about your career?

What I enjoy most about this career is helping save lives.
