Feudal Japan


1. What Is Feudalism

Feudalism is a form of government.

2. What led to the rise of Feudalism in Japan?

Many Daimyo wanted more land to become more wealthy therefore they hired  samurai to go and fight other Daimyo army to gain more land.

3. What are 3 art forms from ancient Japan and how did they impact/influence society at that time period?

Samurai armor was one form of art made of  iron leather and copper this let samurai  be protected in battle. A second form of art is made from clay, they can use this for eating upon or for trading. The last form of art are bonsai gardens, this provided a place to think and be peaceful.

4. What was the social structure of Feudal Japan? Be sure to explain why each class is placed where they were in the Japanese social structure.

The Emperor was at the top of the Japanese social structure but he really didn't have much power. The Shogun and Daimyo was next on the social structure, he was the actual ruler of Japan. One down was the Samurai warriors who were the one fighting the battles. The peasants and artisans were the ones who worked and made up most of  Japan. The lowest on the Social structure were the merchants , They only sold goods and did not produce anything helpful to the society.
