Children Rights Movement

Children rights was a social movement because children didn’t have any rights at all, the children under 9 were not allowed to work but, the children that was 9-16 worked 16 hours per day. The energizing event was that Mary Carpenter campaigned behalf of neglected children or children turned into juveniles. In 1850’s she established three types of schools, free day schools for the general population, industrial schools for those in need and reformatory schools for young offenders.The movement started to form when Eglantyne Jebb founded save the children in 1919, 1st charities aimed at young people then the,SCIU formed United Nations 1946 to adopt the world child welfare charter, achieved in 1959 UNGA version as the Declaration of the rights of the child.
