Bulgarians may wear martenistas from March 1st to the end of the month.  This month is a holiday called Baba Marta, meaning Grandmother March.  It is an ancient pagan tradition to celebrate health and longevity.  You may take it off your clothing if you see a stark (considered a harbinger of spring).

Todorovden, also known as horse easter takes place either in March or February.  Horse races take place all over Bulgaria on this day.  Tradition of an Orthodox Church.

Bread is a staple of every meal and is typically store bought rather than homemade.

Bulgarians typically eat healthy.  They usually have a salad that can be eaten for the whole meal.  Fast Food is not typically eaten.

Sofia is the capital of Bulgaria

Bulgaria is one of the biggest wine producers.  Producing 200,000 tons a year.
