The Bombing of the Birmingham Church
1. The governor had to send over 1,000 police forces to the city to stop the riots.
2.The people behind this horrific tragedy were no other than the Ku Klux Klan. The Ku Klux Klan (KKK) is an American hate group mainly against African Americans.
3.African Americans in the South were basically forbidden from assembling anywhere outside of a church.
4. The sermon that was to be preached that morning was on Luke 23:34" The Jesus said," Father forgive them ;for they know not what they do."
5.At the funeral for the four young victims, Martin Luther King Jr. offered these words of comfort:"And so my friends, they did not die in vain God still has a way of wringing good out of evil. And history has proven over and over again that unmerited suffering is redemptive force that will bring new light to this dark city."
After this even happened there was no more segregation of whites and blacks. Both of these races would be treated equally.
