1. Make a list of everything you spend for a couple of weeks.

Gas, food, activities

2. For the same time period, record everything you earn and its source.

I get payed every two weeks.

3. Now that you have it recorded, analyze it.

I usually have around $150 left in my account before I get payed. I could do without eating out so much.

4. it is a good idea to have a little extra for hard times.

I always put $10 in my savings every paycheck.

5. Monitor your spending.  

I try to as much as I can, but sometimes I get carried away.
