About Temitayo Etomi
An accomplished marketing professional based in Lagos, Nigeria, Temitayo Etomi began her career as a paralegal secretary at age 17. She later attended law school at the University of Lagos, where she operated a youth organization and acted as consultant to the Nigerian government on the development of the National Youth Policy in 2003. In 2001, Ms. Etomi founded the Positive Impact Youth Development Network, a nonprofit organization that designed and implemented programs to involve Nigerian youth in developmental issues such as voting and mentoring. Currently, Temitayo Etomi serves as the head of operations with the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA), in which role she oversees all aspects of strategy design and execution, as well as managing a team of more than 400 employees.
In recognition of her service to womankind, Ms. Etomi earned the 2010 Young Woman of the Year award from the MRH Research Collective. She also won first place in the 2004 Ford Foundation Nelnet Essay Competition and ranked among the top 20 entrants in the 2005 World Bank Essay Competition. In her free time, Temitayo Etomi enjoys playing piano and listening to classical music. An avid fan of Broadway musicals, she names Phantom of the Opera as one of her favorite productions.
