What is terrorism?
the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims.
- Terrorism is commonly defined as violent acts (or the threat of violent acts) intended to create fear (terror), perpetrated for an economic, religious, political, or ideological goal, and which deliberately target or disregard the safety of non-combatants (e.g., neutral military personnel or civilians).
- Ex. Isis beheading people.
A group of people who do the terrorism.
ISIS: The Sunni terrorist organization ISIS has significantly expanded its power base in a short space of time, bringing entire regions under its control. Three years ago, the Islamic State (Isis) did not exist; now it controls vast swaths of Syria and Iraq. Isis has killed many people. And captured a lot too.
