How may we put our Tesseracted Thinking to use for you?
Well, it's how I refer to Peter's "thinking" because Peter takes very convoluted things and makes them VERY simple. It's great the way he does that.
The problem is when it occasionally works in reverse. I used to get frustrated but now I blame Tessie!
Well, she occured on one of those frustrated, convoluted days when instead of complex becoming simple, it felt like Peter had ended up thru the looking glass, on beyond the last star to the left, AFTER passing omega BEFORE alpha!
I was trying, desperately, to explain something I thought was simple - but was, for some reason, eluding Peter. I honestly no longer remember WHAT it was!! But I was getting very frustrated because the more I tried to explain it, the more confused Peter got!
It was all the more frustrating because just a few hours before, Peter and a friend were talking about "And He Built A Crooked House" by Heinlein. It is one of Peter's favorite stories, but not one I had understood when I tried reading it. Their discussion was such that I could actually follow it this time despite it's not making sense. Even after their discussion went off into many other theoretical discussions, I still understood! By the end of their discussion, I had a clear image of a tesseract, and several other theoretical shapes in dimensions we don't occupy and can't see! And I don't think in images or pictures!
I found myself wondering how it was that Peter could take something noone had successfully explained to me and make it so clear, but he couldn't get this simple concept?! In my fit of frustration, I yelled, "Peter get that damn tesseract off your shoulder, It's just confusing you!"
And Tessie was born.... Or at least acknowledged, at long last, as she had likely, always been there on Peter's shoulder causing him to see and understand things so differently than most people.
Above is a rare image capturing Tessie (in her unfolded state) on Peter's shoulder, where she can easily whisper in Peter's ear, giving him the unusual insight we so often appreciate and benefit from.

*It is said that Heinlein's story was based on the nursery rhyme:
There Was A Crooked Man
There was a crooked man, and he walked a crooked mile.
He found a crooked sixpence against a crooked stile.
He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse,
And they all lived together in a little crooked house.
"—And He Built a Crooked House—" is a short story by Robert A. Heinlein, first published in 1941.
"Quintus Teal is an architect always looking for the next big thing in design. While having a friendly conversation with his friend, Homer Bailey, Teal dreams about building a house that utilizes a fourth dimension. When he admits that this is currently impossible, he still thinks that the preliminary steps toward it could be a great new design type and he persuades Bailey to let him build a new house for him as an unfolded tesseract. When it is completed, he proudly takes Bailey and his wife to view the innovative new home. However, a small earthquake during the night has made the impossible a reality, and unfortunately, Teal and the Baileys become trapped in the middle of his architectural masterpiece."

Unfortunately, as awesome as their tesseract is, it is misleading and not clearly described as a true tesseract shape. More on Marvel Comics and their Tesseract can be found here: http://marvel-movies.wikia.com/wiki/Tesseract
*There is also Tesseract OCR - A commercial quality OCR engine originally developed at HP between 1985 and 1995. In 1995, this engine was among the top 3 evaluated by UNLV. It was open-sourced by HP and UNLV in 2005. (NOTE: We're migrating to code.google.com. Please see the forums.) Tesseract OCR Web Site
