The CISD Human Resources Department  produces and distributes a bi-annual employee newsletter as a way to communicate with all staff members.  It is designed to keep employees informed and connected with important information regarding our district.  We hope your school year is off to a very successful start and want you to know we are here for you if there is anything you might need during the school year.

The CISD Annual Holiday Open House on Friday, December 12 was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who attended and a very special thank you to the folks who helped make this event so great.   This year’s theme "Holidays with a Heart"  really stood out as so many people brought donations for the door prizes and for the Lions Club.  The items donated to the Lions Club are being used to help Coppell families in need have a Merry Christmas.

CISD is committed to becoming a more “green” school district.  We are continuing to look for ways we can reuse, reduce and recycle.  Each campus has a sustainability point person and we are asking for everyone to do what they can to help CISD achieve its sustainability goals.  Please note that CISD has changed it's recycling service to Republic Services.  Recycling bins should still be available on all campuses and district facilities.

Encourage your learners to become more involved.  Several campuses have their own gardens and recycling clubs. Please look for ways you can assist both as an individual and a campus.  Together we can all make a difference!

The Coppell Independent School District  takes great pride in working to maintain a safe and secure learning and working environment for its students and staff.  Several changes have been made this year in an effort to ensure school safety.  Updated entrances to our footprint elementary campuses, increased police presence in our buildings and the continuation of the Standard Response Protocol training for all staff. 

CISD has had a comprehensive Emergency Procedures plan in place for several years and that plan is updated annually. The plan prepares us for action and establishes teams, chains of command, and specific steps to take. All of our staff members are aware of the plan and their roles in case of an emergency. Refer to the Standard Response Protocol poster in your classroom or in your building for specific safety protocols.

Please be reminded to wear your employee ID badge on a daily basis.  Direct any visitor not wearing the proper identification to the front office and report any suspicious behavior to your campus administration.


CISD Employees don’t forget about our U-Count program during this holiday season. This is a place where businesses post special discounts for CISD employees.

  • As you begin to make future plans that could possibly pertain to the academic year and next semester, please remember to refer to the CISD Employee Handbook, pages  73-74, for parameters and/or limitations regarding paid leave.  If you have further questions or need clarification, contact Kristen Streeter.
  • Monday, January 18, was the third and final Flex Day.  Nonexempt employees who work less than 200 days must have had eight hours of flex (comp time) prior to January 18th.  Exempt employees who work less than 200 days must have a total of 18 flex hours completed on or before April 29th.
