Aston Martin and Zagato reveal this Awesome Virage Shooting Brake

Aston Martin and Zagato have had a longtime collaboration that dates back to 1960. Aston Martin is currently celebrating its 100th anniversary, and Zagato is marking its 95th. Time to celebrate. Following the debut of the Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato at the Concours d’Eleganza earlier this year, Zagato is back with its second world premiere of the year. And in a partnership with the UK automaker, the two have just unveiled the Aston Martin Virage Shooting Brake Zagato at the Chantilly Art & Elegance event in France.

This one-off was commissioned by a European client who wanted an "atelier-level, collectible modern car." The shooting brake is a modern interpretation of the mid 80s V8 Vantage and Volante. It also completes an Aston Martin and Zagato trilogy of one-offs that began last year at Aston’s Centennial celebration. Those first two were the DBS Coupe Zagato Centennial and the DB9 Spider Zagato Centennial. With its sleek roofline and long, dart-like silhouette, the Virage Shooting Brake is a beautiful combination of British and Italian elegance. Its styling may not be for everyone, but it’s without question unique. No mention was made as to what’s under the hood, but a good guess is Aston's familiar 6.0-liter V12.
