THE CONTENDER

"YOU MUST BE A CONTENDER, BEFORE YOU BECOME A CHAMPION"

Shania Parsons

Just by looking at the cover of "The Contender" you can tell the book is ment to be read.

Facts

Alfred Brooks grew up in the city of Harlem. Brooks was a high school drop out, and works weekdays at "The Epstein's Supermarket." Alfred stumbles upon a gym where later he becomes a great champion.

Alfred lives with his Aunt Pearl and his two niece because his parents died.

James was Alfred's best friend, also a dropout of high school. James robbed "The Epstein's Supermarket" and got taken to juvenile . Once out he starts going to party's, hangs out the the bad group of boys, and become a heroine addict.

Mr. Donatelli's gym was located on the third floor above the bar and dentist. The gyms was a large murky room with a dim light.

Alfred's boxing career only had three matches in total.

SO I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO GO BUY "THE CONTENDER" TO SEE HOW YOUNG ALFRED MATURES AND REALIZES HE IS NOT A KID ANYMORE AND STARTS BECOMING A YOUNG MAN.
